Good copy only in later 19th century half calf over marbled boards, now lightly scuffed; front joint broken, with board detached. Corners slightly bumped, with panel edges worn. Spine heavily rubbed, with flaking and loss at both ends, retaining gilt-blocked red leather label. Preliminary and final leaves foxed; interior otherwise sound with only faint, sparse marginal foxing. Despite its faults, a well-preserved example. Provenance; The copy of the Rev. R. Watkinson, second schoolmaster [Charterhouse], with his autograph to flyleaf and a manuscript note on his election at page 243.
