1866, First Edition. Glasgow : William Blackie and Son. Good, strong copy in the original gilt-decorated green cloth over bevelled boards, now showing light dust-dulling and minor scuffs. Corners bumped, with endbands rubbed and a small closed tear to the lower front joint. All edges gilt, with the text block remaining tight throughout. Prelims somewhat foxed, with fainter foxing scattered internally; colour plate retains its tissue-guard. A well-preserved copy overall. Provenance: bookplate of James Adair.
