1926, First Edition. London : published under the authority of the Board of Education. Poor paperback copy, with front wrapper detached and rear wrapper lacking. Front leaf creased, with some faint foxing to the prelims; rear plate slightly dust-dulled. Spine scuffed and partly lacking, though sewing remains strong. Image no. 65 on Plate VIII has been excised but replaced with a photoprint of the missing image ('Orange Twilight,' also called 'Yellow Twilight'). The main defect is damage to the recto of Plate VII, where image no. 58 ('Ruth Returned from Gleaning') has also been partly excised. The text and plates are otherwise complete and in very good condition: tight, bright and clean. A very serviceable copy. Item #462607
