Notes; "The design on the binding of this book is based on the coat of arms of the first Duke of Marlborough surmounting one of the Grinling Gibbons doorways of carved white marble in the saloon at Blenheim Palace." Posthumously published work written in the 1930s by the then Keeper of the Dept. of Textiles, Victoria and Albert Museum. The tapestries were from original designs by Lambert de Hondt and were collectively called 'The art of war'. Includes bibliographical references (pages 137-138).
