1855, First Edition. Glasgow ; New York : Blackie and Son. Poor copy in the original half black leather over brown cloth boards, with raised bands and title gilt-blocked to spine. Boards slightly scuffed overall, and worn along the edges. Front joint split, with top compartment lacking; front panel coming detached and holding only at the head of the spine. Rear cloth cover separating over the lower half of the board. Internally much better, with binding tight and leaves faintly foxed throughout. Some isolated marginal creasing. An internally strong and very serviceable copy overall. Item #456438
